Where are the trailheads?

What is the pet policy?

Bear Mountain is delighted to offer a limited number of pet friendly guestrooms in our Overlook Lodge. Check out the full pet policy at https://visitbearmountain.com/accommodations/

What is the difference in the three locations?

The historic Bear Mountain Inn is located in the heart of Bear Mountain with 15 rooms. Overlook lodge is located 2 miles from the historic inn and sits higher up on the mountain with a balcony off the common providing wonderful views of the Hudson River and Hessian Lake. The Stone Cottages are located closer to the Historic Inn with each cottage having 6 individual hotel rooms with porch areas overlooking the lake.

What are the transportation options in the area?

There is no Uber available in the area. There are taxi services recommended by the front desk for those needing transportation to train or bus stations and around the area. It is not recommended to rely on ride sharing services at this time. There currently is not a shuttle on the property at this time.

Is ice available on the property?

There is an ice machine located on the third floor of the Historic Inn. Ice is also made available in a freezer located in the lobby area of the Overlook Lodge. For guests staying in the Stone Cottages, the closest ice is located at the Inn.

What activities can I do during my stay?

Where do I check in/out?

Check in for all building is located at the Historic Inn, 99 Service Rd, Tomkins Cove, NY 10986 It is recommended to bring confirmation of reservation to show park police in case of long lines entering the park. For early check-in, please contact the desk upon arrival. Based on availability we would be happy to work with you.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is NOT included in room rates, but grab and go breakfast items are available at Hikers Cafe located in the Historic Inn.

When is the Car Show at Bear Mountain?

Typically the car show takes place every Wednesday from Memorial day to Labor day, weather dependent. We recommend checking out the Bear Mountain Car Cruise Facebook page website.

What is Octoberfest?

This large event is a place to come out and enjoy beer, delicious food, live music, and fun activities for all ages. Having outgrown the space at Bear Mountain State Park, this annual event is located at the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area.

How do I get there?

How much are the paddleboats?

Paddleboats are $10 per person for 30 minutes or $15 per person for 60 minutes. There is a 4 person max per boat and all boats are first come first serve.

When is the Zoo open?

How much is it to enter the park?

Park entrance fee is $10 per vehicle. One vehicle included in room rate.

Is there a pool?

There is a public pool for ALL visitors of the State Park. Although located within Bear Mountain State park, it is not adjacent to the lodging. It is generally open in the summer, wather permitted.
