Accessibility Overview
We’re committed to making Bear Mountain as welcoming and inclusive as possible. Below is an overview of the current accessibility features across our property.
Terrain and Public Areas
- Sidewalks and Pathways: All main walkways are paved with asphalt. There is a gentle incline to the cottages, with smooth, easy-to-navigate surfaces.
- Entrances: The Overlook Lodge entrance is accessible. Second-floor rooms require stairs (no elevator).
- Doors: None of our buildings have automatic doors (Inn, Lodge, or Stone Cottages).
- Parking:
- Bear Mountain Inn: 4 accessible spaces
- Overlook Lodge: 2 accessible spaces
- Stone Cottages: 8 accessible spaces; all lots are paved and activities are within a quarter-mile walk
Flooring
- Bear Mountain Inn: Cement in common areas; wood in ballroom and restaurant; carpeted hallways.
- Overlook Lodge: Cement at entrance/check-in; vinyl tile in common areas; carpeted hallways.
- Stone Cottages: Carpeted hallways to guest rooms.
Accessible Lodging
- Bear Mountain Inn: One accessible room on the third floor (elevator access).
- Overlook Lodge: Two accessible rooms on the first floor:
- Room 104: Roll-in shower with shower chair
- Room 110: Tub with chair
- Please note, there is no elevator access at Overlook Lodge
- Stone Cottages: One accessible room in Beaver Cottage (Room 404).
All accessible rooms include:
- Grab bars in shower and next to toilet
- Shower chair with reachable controls and toiletries shelf
- Light switches and outlets at waist height
- Paved paths usable during emergency evacuations
There are no automatic doors or bathroom intercoms at this time. We are sourcing a hearing-impaired support device.
Activities and Recreation
- Trails: Multiple trails within four miles; some steep. Benches along Bear Mountain Lake Trail. All trails are well maintained.
- Docks: Floating docks without railings—use caution when boarding.
- Paddle Boat Rentals: Wheelchair-accessible entrance gate. Staff assistance available. Boats are not ADA-accessible; closures possible in high water or bad weather.

- 1915 Restaurant: Fully ADA accessible.
