  • State Park Hours
    • Open year-round from dawn to dusk.

  • Directions & Parking

    Bear Mountain State Park is located along the west bank of the Hudson River, accessible via Palisades Parkway or Route 9W North. You can visit our Maps & Directions Page for more information.

  • Pet Policy
    • Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
      Not allowed in buildings, picnic areas, bathing areas, walkways, or inside the Trailside Museum & Wildlife Center.
    • Pets are welcome at Overlook Lodge. A limited number of pet-friendly rooms are available.
    • Please call 845-786-2731 to reserve a pet-friendly room. Pet fee: $60 per dog per night. Limit of 2 dogs per room with no weight restriction.
  • Dining & Picnicking

    Enjoy a meal at the historic Bear Mountain Inn’s Restaurant 1915, located on the second floor, where our executive chef serves an eclectic mix of globally inspired dishes. Known for transforming familiar, locally sourced ingredients into exquisite creations, the menu offers a unique dining experience in a rustic and elegant setting.

    For a quicker option, stop by Hiker’s Café, conveniently located just inside the east entrance of the Inn on the first floor near the parking kiosk.

    You can also visit Stand 10, a beloved concession stand near the picnic groves, serving crowd favorites like burgers, kosher hot dogs, french fries, and ice cream. It is the perfect grab-and-go spot for families and hikers enjoying Bear Mountain State Park.

    Please note: Pets and alcohol are not permitted in picnic areas.

  • State Park Parking Fee

    New York State Parks charges a $10 (cash only) parking fee for all guests visiting any facilities at Bear Mountain State Park.
