DESCRIPTION:Historical Bear Mountain Hiking Tours\nApril 21st – 22nd (Earth Day) – 29th (Park Rx Day)\nJoin our New York Certified Hiking Guide on April 21st\, 22nd\, and 29th at 9 am or 2 pm for a historical hike around Bear Mountain filled with intriguing anecdotes about the rich history of the area. There is a $20 per person pre-registration required that includes lunch\, a Bear Mountain Inn reusable water bottle\, and a parking pass.\nPlease call 845-786-2731 ext. 1002 to reserve your spot. \nFeatured Hikes\n9 am – The Historic 1777 Trail to Doodletown (Moderate Difficulty\, Approximately 4 miles)\nThis is the route taken by British troops under Sir Henry Clinton on October 6\, 1777\, to attack the American forces at Fort Clinton and Fort Montgomery. Groups will stop for a lunch or snack at Doodletown Reservoir. For this hike\, guests will need hiking shoes (boots are not necessary)\, water\, and a snack or lunch. \n2 pm– Bald Mountain (Strenuous Difficulty)\nThe hike to Bald Mountain boasts spectacular views. It follows the Cornell Mine trail to the Ramapo Dunderberg trail to the top of Bald Mountain. On the return trip\, hikers will continue on the road and pick up the 1777 trail and hike through Doodletown before heading back to the Inn.
