Love in the Bear Mountain Air
Valentine’s Day wasn’t always the timeless symbol of love. Let’s have a rundown of the history of Valentine’s day before we start. >
It started in 270 A.D. when Emperor Claudius II banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers.
But Valentine felt this was unfair. He broke the rules and arranged marriages in secret.
When Claudius found out, Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death. In jail, he fell in love with the jailer’s daughter, and when he was killed on the 14th of February, he sent her a love letter signed “from your Valentine.”
So this February 14th, celebrate yourself, your loved, or your furry friend. Spend some quality time exploring Bear Mountain, eating great food, and seeing beautiful sights, and you’ll have a Valentine’s Day weekend to remember.
